The Blue 60 Quart Ice Vault with wheels is a capable and affordable cooler. While its insulation isn’t as strong as YETI or RTIC, it offers an excellent value for money and the wheels make it an exceptional cooler.

The Icemule Pro XL Cooler is my favorite backpack cooler for watersports. For land-based activities like hikes and scrambling over rocks, I preferred the YETI Hopper M20 because of its harder shell. The Icemule Pro XL cooler didn’t perform as well as the YETI did in my ice test, but it outperformed the other four coolers I tested, and the value-for-money is exceptional.

The insulation for the Icemule Pro was nearly as powerful as the YETI Hopper, which I didn’t expect. And the ergonomic design and loads of padding on the back and shoulders makes this an easy cooler to travel with all day. This is the best value for money backpack cooler I’ve found.

The Igloo BMX 25 cooler is the most budget friendly cooler I’ve tested in the 20-25 quart category. It performed the worst (out of four brands) in my insulation and ice-retention tests, but not by very much. The best performing was the YETI Roadie 24, but that only outperformed the Igloo by 5 hours (about 8% better). The Igloo is much less expensive than YETI, too. Otherwise, the Igloo is ugly, but it gets the job done.
